A Human Pincushion

Tests, tests, tests!  Blood tests to make sure that I can handle the next set of tests.  CT scan today, which requires an IV.  Then a bone scan, which requires that they shoot scary radioactive stuff that comes in a lead shielded syringe straight into your vein.  Next week will be an echo to check that my heart is strong enough to handle the chemo that my oncologist is recommending.  Then more pre-surgery blood work and an EKG.

My veins are really deep and getting in to them is difficult.  We have discussed and I believe decided that I will have a port inserted during my surgery.  This will allow the frequent blood draws and infusions during chemo to be pretty darn easy.  And I’m all for that!
